This is my cam page. I'm playing with a couple different ways of doing this as each have their own advantages and disadvantages. The cams use a software package called Willing Webcam. The "Yard Cam" is running on my file server and the "Office Cam" is running on my desktop that I use for my regular work. The refresh rate on both of these is dependent to a great degree on the internet connection speed between your computer and my servers. So, if I'm doing a load of downloading or uploading, or I'm doing a lot of updating on my work computer, the cams maybe slow or may even stop. This doesn't mean they are broke. If money allows, I may resolve this problem in the future. The Yard Cam is not real high quality. I just stuck the cam out the window of my office. The two panes of glass and the screen that it looks through diminishes the the picture to a great degree. I will be working on improving that. Maybe Santa Claus will get me some IP wireless cameras that I can mount in weather resistant enclosures outside and that should do a much better job. And it would also provide more security. Update 1/28/12 - I was suppose to go trap shooting today so I did all my computer updates yesterday. So this morning I got off my dead ass and put the Swann on a mount and put it outside under the deck. It has infrared LEDs so you should be able to see something day or night. I will possibly be adding a third cam for special events. Yea, like that's going to happen in my life. lol Anyway, it will be a snap shot sort of thing that I can upload from anywhere. So, if I'm visiting my dad or possible my daughter, we can run a cam from that location. I'll keep you posted.
